ABOUT the INSTRUCTOR:
MS. GRETCHEN is a Drowning Prevention Specialist, Certified Infant Swimming Resource Instructor (ISR). She teaches children ages 6 months and up, the ISR techniques from a private location in Fleming Island. Ms. Gretchen holds an Associates degree in Nursing from the University in North Dakota in 1993. She has many years of experience as a nurse including the field of pediatrics. Ms. Gretchen maintains her nursing license and is certified in both CPR and First Aid.
Ms. Gretchen was born and raised on the eastern coast (RI, MA, CT) until she moved to North Dakota in 1988. Ms.Gretchen attended college at the University of North Dakota, and obtained an Associate in Applied Science/Nursing degree in 1993.
After Ms. Gretchen and her family moved to the Fleming Island area, they installed a pool for their children. She became very concerned about her infant daughter and her safety, especially after hearing on the local news that a toddler had drowned in his parent's pool. Learning about this horrible tragedy, Ms. Gretchen researched swim programs for young children, and came across Infant Swimming Resource!
